The Lamborghini of snowboards

They call it the Lamborghini of snowboards.

The Whip - an ultramodern, blue steal colored board - fits better, turns quicker and carves sharper then our traditional boards, said producer Cheetah Ultra Sports.

Created for both novice and advanced riders, The Whip is intended to tackle powder with unparalleled speed and maneuverability, thanks in part to the four years of research it took to conceive and construct.

Its main support system - called the spider back – is a doubled arched platform spans the entirety of the board. Mounted with flexible springs, the rider clicks in their bindings – one at the top of each arch – and rides.

Cheetah Ultra Sports says the flexible arches, which connect to the board with two V shapes on each side, provide better edge control and even weight distribution. The spider back is also tilted toward the center of the board, providing a more natural stance for the rider and reduces heel and toe drag, they said.

The company said that riders should relax their boarding style while using The Whip as it more easily conforms to the body’s natural movement. They also claim newbie riders will have an easier time learning the ropes, opposed to using traditional boards for the first time.

The Whip uses standard bindings and boots, can be hooked to your bike and held in one hand. Several hundred boards will be produced this season, said the company, and more in the future.

Unfortunately, The Whip is not recommended un-groomed or off the trail riding.
