Hitting the Slopes in 2009
Looking for the perfect place to catch your winter thrill? Away.com, a leading website for travel planning, has released its annual Ski & Snowboard Guide, highlighting 250 domestic and international ski and snowboard resorts for the 2009-2010 ski season. The new guide allows snow fanatics to select their slopes based on lifestyle and interests in ski categories including: Best Value, Family Friendly, Good for Beginners, Holiday Season Ski, Lack of Crowds and Powder Skiing.
"Each ski season we take great care in compiling the most comprehensive list of the top resorts for those planning ski vacations," said Nathan Borchelt, senior editor of Away.com. "This year’s guide includes a great mix of bona fide ski institutions and little known but up-and-coming ski and snowboard resorts."
In addition to the guide, Away.com has posted a contest on their site giving its audience the chance to submit a descriptive review of their favorite resort in 150 words or less. Though it is down to the wire, there is still time to submit. The Favorite Ski Resort contest will run through November 20, 2009. The winning entry will receive a new Igneo ski jacket and pants, courtesy of Outdoor Research. The winner and their favorite resort review will also be featured on Away.com.
From hardcore double-black-diamonds to family-friendly beginner slopes Away.com’s new guide has something for everyone. Below is a top-ten list the folks at Away.com compiled. If you are within striking distance of any of these suggestions, check them out; you won’t be disappointed.
