NEW Atlas and Silverrush Flow Down Jackets

Goose down is the world’s lightest and best performing natural insulating material yet traditional down jackets, though functional, have an unflattering overstuffed demeanor and are rarely waterproof. Helly Hansen solves the design dilemma in Winter 2009 with its new Atlas Flow Down Jacket for men and Silverrush Flow Down Jacket for women.

Rather than stuffing down in stitched baffles like every other down parka, Helly integrates hexagonal down pillows throughout the interior of the jacket to provide exceptional warmth. Venting channels run between the pillows that allow excess heat and moisture to escape resulting in a jacket that stays a comfortable temperature during a wider range of activities. The interior technology is hidden beneath a smooth Helly Tech XP exterior that delivers 15,000mm waterproof breathable protection. Low-bulk PrimaLoft insulation is built into the shoulders arms and seat for warmth and to provide a slimmer fit.

The Atlas and Silverrush Flow Down Jackets are designed for skiing and snowboarding with sport specific features such as music and communication device pockets, a removable powder skirt and water resistant zips. Both jackets will be available at specialty retailers worldwide in September 2009.

An equal level of weather protection extends to the lower extremities with the coordinating Atlas pants and women’s Silverrush pants. The Atlas pants feature full stretch Helly Tech® 02 nylon fabrics with 20,000mm waterproof breathable protection, full side zippers, inner leg vents and stretch boot gaiters. The Silverrush pants are constructed with Helly Tech® XP fabrics with 15,000mm waterproof breathable protection, Thinsulate™ insulation in the seat and knees, an adjustable waistband and a RECCO avalanche safety reflector.
