Bonfire Snowboarding and Pendleton Wool Outerwear Line
by Cara Pettersen
Oregon represent! Bonfire snowboarding has teamed up with Pendleton for their 2013/2014 outerwear line. Both companies are currently based out of Oregon, although Pendleton has been an Oregon brand since its inception over 140 years ago.
Bonfire is stoked to have partnered with the long-standing quality wool brand stating, "we’re two brands focused on common values— authenticity, quality, and craftsmanship. Why it’s awesome: You get winter and wool woven together as one."
The outerwear styles are a perfect blend of notorious Pendleton prints and snowboard/skate hipster. The Pendleton PDX Shirt is a 60g insulated flannel that retails for $299 (Pendleton and Bonfire are both known for higher price points, but damn!).
Another dope looking piece out of the line is the women's Pendleton Pilgram Jacket, that is made of a laminated wool fabric, that is surprisingly breathable, and designed with a long cut (my personal favorite for outerwear). This jacket is meant to look great going from the mountain to the streets, however it is only water resistant. $399.95 retail and is available in turquoise and charcoal.
Additional specs include:
Full 40g insulation
Sound pocket
Mystic heat pockets

My favorite from the line is the men's Fireman Jacket. Bonfire originally released this jacket back in 1992 and is now debuting it again with a Pendleton lining and new waxed cotton shell fabric that gives this coat a street look and feel. $379.95 retail.
Additional specs include:
10k waterproofing / 6k breathability
Full Thermore 60g insulation
Neckwarmer
Removable powder skirt
2-way pit vents
Removable hood
Keep your eyes open for the Bonfire "cozy capsule collection" at your favorite shred retailers.
