Product Review: Vans Nordic Brindle Chuckka BootCalifornia Collection 2011
I took a quick trip to see the last show of one of my favorite bands plat at the Fillmore in San Francisco. It was bitter sweet really- an amazing show to never be seen again. To pass the other 20 hours I was in SF, I shopped around fro some kicks and I came across the Nordic Brindle Chukka boot from Vans. These shoes are apart of Vans' new Fall 2011 "California Collection," a series of seriously rad skate shoes.
It was pretty much love at first sight. I have always been a fan of the mid rise chuckka and this style just grabbed me instantly. The Nordic Brindle colorway is a perfect cross of skater steez and gypster trend. Moreover, these shoes are crazy comfortable. They have some wicked foot bed that are like tiny mattresses for your feet- that is not an exaggeration. I wish snowboard boots could be this comfy. The foot bed is thin, allowing you to feel your skateboard beneath you, but enough cushion for landing.
These are by far my favorite Vans shoe and worth every penny ( they are a little steep at $80). I have noticed that mids or chuckkas and high tops fit big. I had to size down in these. Find the Nordic Chuckka Boot in shops now. Two colorways: Black and Brindle. |
